Named after the London postcode where their first workshop was located, the company is now based in Frankfurt and is one of Germany's most celebrated design brands.
The Houdini Armchair is a lightweight design chair with a very distinctive look. A refined combination of craftsmanship and industrial techniques. The chair is made of hand-bent and glued plywood shells around a solid wooden ring, without the use of nails or screws. The result is a spacious and comfortable shell that makes the chair suitable for both private and public interiors. Other members of this furniture family, designed by Stefan Diez, include the Houdini Chair, Bessy Stool, Bessy Lounge Chair, Eugene Lounge Chair and Jean Stool.
Groundbreaking use of solid wood
Best known for their groundbreaking use of solid wood, e15’s Bigfoot Table is the perfect example of their design philosophy. The geometric lines are softened by the natural markings of solid oak and walnut. Backenzahn, a charismatic solid wood stool/side table, is considered an e15 icon.
Celebrating the beauty of natural wood, the Fawley Bench is made solid by a wide horizontal crossbar. Part of British architect David Chipperfield’s instantly recognisable collection for e15, the Fawley Bench takes inspiration from traditional wooden furniture. With a 3cm thick seat, it is available in European oak or walnut with a range of natural finishes that retain its character. Ideally combined with e15’s Fayland Table, the Fawley Bench is delivered as a single unit.
