Karimoku New Standard: Philosophy and Designers
Over the past ten years, the brand has grown through many international collaborations and in the belief that design standards and desires are universal.
This philosophy continues to inspire the designers and craftsmen to create high-quality furniture, always with a healthy dose of humor.
In addition to the Karimoku Design Team with their Ren chair, the Dutch designers Stefan Scholten and Carol Baijings have been able to make a strong mark on the collection. With the combination of minimal shapes and beautiful colors and through the combination of industrial and traditional techniques, they designed the beautiful Color Wood series, with tables, chairs and stools. BigGame, with Swiss, French and Belgian roots, has also made a strong contribution to the collection with the Castor series. The seemingly simple but wonderfully comfortable Castor Chair, with or without armrests, with or without upholstery and also available as a minimal lounge chair is an important part of the collection.
The extensive Elephant series and Scout tables come from the German Cristian Haas. Alongside many other international designers, David Glättli, from Zurich, is the creative director.

The Models and Their Applications
The Castor chairs and Colour Wood tables are used in many restaurants, the Elephant lounge benches can be found in hotel lobbies, low Polar chairs in lounge areas and the Archive bar chairs at the bar in hospitality environments. In addition to the chairs and tables, the super sleek cabinets and beautiful low tables also come into their own in homes, holiday homes and sports buildings. A wonderful collection to furnish your entire interior.
We know the collection completely and are happy to help you with your KNS interior!

Craftsmanship and History
KNS is one of the brands in the Karimoku Group, a network of companies that handles everything from wood purchasing to furniture sales. It all started in 1940 when Shohei Kato took over a wood company. In the years that followed, the company made all kinds of wooden parts and developed new techniques. In the 1960s, they launched their own furniture line and grew into a top brand in Japan.
